I live in a Fort Worth suburb with my husband Shawn. We have three daughters: Rachel (a student at Texas A&M), and teenagers Rebekah and Anna. I was born in Texas and have lots of extended family here but moved to Kansas at age 2 and became a die hard Jayhawk at the University of Kansas. Shawn and I met there and got married my senior year. We get back as often as we can to soak in the magic.
I love to read and write, and I work part-time covering Keller ISD for the Star-Telegram and the Keller Citizen. I like all kinds of writing and have written a yet-to-be-published novel, skits for my church and other odds and ends. This is my first personal blog. I help maintain “Extra Credit,” the Star-Telegram’s education blog.
My theme is “cultivating peace.” In today’s hectic world, most of us are looking for peace, but peace is something you can carry around with you instead of being dependent on idyllic circumstances. As Monty Python’s crew would say, “that is my quest.” I am a work in progress “created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Eph. 2:10).
